UFO Timeline

During 1976, Robert L Forward publishes an article entitled “A Program for Interstellar Exploration” in the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society proposing the launch of manned missions to Alpha Centauri around 2025.

 

 

 

 

During 1976, MENSA International polled its members on UFOs. 64% of respondents indicated they believed UFOs “are spaceships from other planets”.

 

 

 

 

The movie “The Man Who Fell to Earth” (1976) was directed by Nicolas Roeg. It was based on a novel of the same title by Walter Trevis. It starred David Bowie.

 

 

 

On 6 January 1976, there was an alleged abduction of Louise Smith, Mona Stafford and Elaine Thomas in Stanford, Kentucky whilst driving home from celebrating Mona Stafford’s birthday at a restaurant south of Lancaster, Kentucky. (Commonly referred to as “the Stanford, Kentucky multiple abduction” or the “Casey County abduction”.)

This incident is Case 68 in Isaac Koi's "Top 100" article,  since it was referred to in 43 of the books covered by that article.
