On 29 November 1969, a letter waspublished in the journal Nature entitled “Ball Lightning”, in which Professor R C Jennison (sometimes mispelt as Jenninson) of the Electronics Laboratories at the University of Kent reported seeing a glowing sphere float down the aisle of an Eastern Airlines Jet flight from New York to Washington on 19th March 1963
On 30 December 1969, a letter sent to Mr Robert Seamans by Thornton Page on behalf of various attendees of the AAAS symposium urging that the Blue Book and Condon files be lodged with a research institute to allow further study.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (“AAAS”) held a 2 day UFO Symposium in Boston, Massachusetts on 26th and 27th December 1969. Various participants (including Dr J Allen Hynek, James E McDonald and Lester Grinspoon) contributed their papers to a book edited by Carl Sagan and Thornton Page (“UFO’s : A Scientific Debate” (1972)).
