Koi UFO Video 072 :  Green Sphere (The Faking Hoaxer)

[DEBUNKED] Koi UFO Video 72 appears to show a rotating green sphere moving in the sky, passing behind tree branches.

The creator of the video, an individual with the username "The Faking Hoaxer", posted a video giving an explanation of how he created the green sphere footage using compositing and video editing techniques. He has made a number of other impressive "UFO" videos, which he accompanies with statements that they are hoaxes.  He has stated in interviews that he sometimes gets accused of hoaxing his hoaxes, i.e. suggestions that they are in fact real footage, despite showing how he created his videos.  He has expressed rather dim views of "UFO nutters", who believe hoaxed videos because "they want to believe".

The Faking Hoaxer has made a number of other impressive "UFO" videos, which he accompanies with statements that they are hoaxes.

An article entitled "Confessions of a UFO Hoaxer" on Aol News in June 2010 commented that The Faking Hoaxer "has a talent for creating footage that earns the rarest of compliments: It feels real". That article reported that The Faking Hoaxer created his videos "with very few tools: a Nikon D40 for the photos, a Canon HV30 for video elements, Autodesk 3D Studio Max for 3D modeling and Adobe Creative Suite 4 to put it all together". The Faking Hoaxer reportedly stated that "I can create a simple UFO hoax in less than an hour, but other more cinematic videos can take a few days". At the date of that article (June 2010), The Faking Hoaxer stated he had been "doing FX" for about two years, but had always been "a keen artist". He stated that he generally received "good feedback, usually stating the quality of the CGI".

The OddBill.com website also published an article on The Faking Hoaxer in 2010.  That article commented in relation to The Faking Hoaxer's videos that "There seems to be very little, if any 3D work in any of these, just incredibly skillfully manipulated and mixed found-photos and found footage".  The Faking Hoaxer was reported as saying that:

"I really have no background in digital art apart from the creations I have made for my youtube channel. I am a pure amateur who has many ideas floating around in my head and have found a way to create them using consumer tools. Mainly the Adobe products, digital stills camera and camcorders"

The Faking Hoaxer has stated in interviews that he sometimes gets accused of hoaxing his hoaxes, i.e. that they are in fact real footage, despite showing how he created his videos.

The Faking Hoaxer gave a telephone interview to Lawrence Leung of ABC1 in Australia.  A page on The Faking Hoaxer's defunct website states "TFH refused to be filmed on camera in London so they used an actor, then dubbed him over with a Scottish accent... for some strange reason. But the people at ABC1 were great and it was fun talking to them....over the phone". The Faking Hoaxer's answers to various questions can be heard at 9 minutes 5 seconds into the video below. In those answers, heexpressed rather dim views of "UFO nutters", who believe hoaxed videos because "they want to believe".
