On 8 September 1966, the “Star Trek” television series begins broadcasting. It starred William Shatner as Captain James T Kirk.

 

 

 

 

1966.0909 “Lady” found dead

On 9 September 1966, “Lady” (often, incorrectly, referred to by the name “Snippy”) a horse (a 3 year old Appaloosa) was found dead near Alamosa, Colorado. One of the most famous alleged animal mutilations (often referred to as “mutes”).

This incident is Case 49 in Isaac Koi's "Top 100" article,  since it was referred to in 54 of the books covered by that article.

Allegedly, there was a UFO sighting on Gemini 11 on 12 September 1966 by astronauts Charles “Pete” Conrad and Richard Gordon.

As with several other alleged astronaut sightings, a wide variety of contradictory dates are given for the alleged sighting in the various relevant sources.
